Dirty Little Helper 98 was an offline, bi-lingual FAQ, cheat and trainer database application. It was the successor of DLH'98 for DOS.
The screenshot is from chip.de and does not reflect the completeness of this archive.
It contains cheats/FAQs/walkthroughs for games on PC, XBOX, GC, PSX, PS2, N64, SNES, NES, GB, DC, Saturn!
You could download the archives yourself (slowly) or order a CD-ROM containing the archives. DHL.net stopped updating the archives in 2006. The world had moved on to online-only databases.
Here's a giant .rar of what I've been able to salvage. There are some things that
could be missing. There supposedly was a Mega Drive/Genesis database. I have not been able to find that. I don't remember it ever existing. I sort of remember the PC-Engine getting mentioned too, even maybe in the UI... I just don't know. I'd like to get a complete dump one day if I don't have one already.
This was designed to run on Win32 machines. Wine has issues with it (solved by running it as root... yeah no - use a VM instead)
Update, July 27, 2021:
I've added dlh98_clean.zip, which is another dump I've come across and I'd like to share it with you all and make sure it's preserved.
Since then Wine has seen some updates and while the application runs it does not see all module contents and News. So I'd still advise using it in a VM or on a real Windows machine!
